The Foundation for Innovation and Research – Malta (FiR.mt) is pleased to announce that the PROMISE project has been featured by the European Commission’s Horizon Magazine, recognising the project’s contribution to advancing photovoltaic reliability research and supporting Europe’s clean energy transition.

Horizon Magazine is the European Commission’s official research and innovation publication, showcasing research projects and scientific achievements funded under the European Union’s research and innovation programmes. Being featured reflects the wider European relevance and impact of the work undertaken by the PROMISE consortium.

Coordinated by FiR.mt, the PROMISE project brought together leading European research organisations to strengthen excellence in photovoltaic reliability research through scientific collaboration, knowledge exchange, advanced training, and the development of research capacity. Throughout the project, the consortium worked to improve the understanding of photovoltaic system performance, degradation mechanisms, monitoring methodologies, and long-term reliability, helping to support more resilient and sustainable solar energy deployment across Europe.

Beyond its scientific achievements, PROMISE established lasting collaborations between research institutions, industry, and stakeholders while providing valuable opportunities for researchers through specialised training activities, mobility programmes, workshops, and international networking.

As project coordinator, FiR.mt is proud to have led this collaborative European initiative and to have contributed to strengthening research excellence in Malta while fostering long-term partnerships with internationally recognised centres of expertise in photovoltaic technologies.

The Foundation congratulates all consortium partners, researchers, and stakeholders whose dedication and expertise made the project a success. This recognition by Horizon Magazine reflects the collective efforts of the entire consortium and demonstrates the value of European collaboration in addressing global energy challenges.
