Robust Optimisation Framework for PVs and EVs Integration at Low Voltage Network (RoOFPEVs)

Photovoltaic systems represent the primary renewable energy source on the Maltese Islands.  Their integration in sizing and operation can improve the overall flexibility of the electricity grid network system. The Project aims to optimal integrate electric vehicles within the low voltage network while investigating and exploiting the use of solar energy.  A stochastic optimisation framework is proposed to evaluate the integrated optimal sizing and operation of photovoltaics and electric vehicles under uncertainties of climate, usage, energy loads and costs. The challenge is that the proposed robust optimisation framework will converge to solutions 100 fold faster than techniques using Monte Carlo Simulations
